Who you are, September 24, 2018 Daily Reflection

Yesterday, I attended my second formation meeting for those interested in becoming associates of the Ursulines. Sister Martha told us about Angela Merici and how she didn’t say what to do. Her order was not created to do something like teach or nurse etc. Instead she wanted the women to learn not what to do, but who they are. It’s about being, not doing. This contemplation of life and purpose flows from a deep relationship with God. It has its roots in mindfulness. Awareness is the key to living. Knowing and understanding self and the relationship with self, God, others, and creation is at the heart of living.
I am a child of God, with a creative imagination, loving heart, and need to bring others into a deeper awareness of divinity in their own lives. It’s all about who I am…
