Path I run through

Path I run through

I just finished my fall break from teaching. I had the weekend and two days off of school. In that time I did too much as always, besides being with my family and relaxing, the best part was being able to take longer runs. I ran 34 miles in 5 days. Yesterday I ran 9 miles. There is nothing like taking my children to school in the morning and then going for a long run when the air is cool, the sky is blue, and the sun is shining down on me. On those runs I prayed for my students, family, faith, and many other intentions. I listened to my music, but most of all I just took in the beauty of being able to run, thanking God for my motivation to do it, my physical ability to run long distances, and the time to enjoy one of life’s simple pleasures. There is nothing like a good long run.

Now, it’s back to work, and the crazy busy life with four children, two sports, Master’s classes, teaching, writing, and trying to be a good wife and a good person in general. Thank you God for the break, it was a great breath of fresh air.

What revitalizes you? A good walk in the fall air? Talking on the phone to a good friend? A snuggly hug from a loved one? Figure it out and do it today!
