Today is the first Sunday of Advent in the Catholic Church. Advent is a time of waiting and preparation for the Birth of Christ into our hearts each year.  I have always enjoyed the Advent Season as a child it was a great way to count down to Christmas.  My Birthday is the first day of December which is always right around the beginning of Advent. My grandma always gave me an Advent Calendar for my Birthday.  I loved waking up each morning to open another little door that would have a short line of scripture about the coming of Christ.

I personally love anticipation and that is part of Advent.  It is also a time to reflect on what we should work on or change in ourselves to prepare to better know Christ and welcome Him into our lives and hearts once more.  So today on this first day of Advent, whether you are Catholic or not, reflect on what you would like to change about yourself that would allow you to accept love and give love more easily to others.  Say a prayer to God today to help you do that before Christmas.
