Ten Rules by Jenna, February 23, 2015 Daily Reflection

RulesLast week my students were given an assignment to write 10 rules/laws that would make their lives, as well as the lives of their family and loved ones, better in this world. We have been studying laws and their purpose in Catholic Morality. This was my favorite list. I liked it so much I received permission from my student Jenna to post her rules. Enjoy:

  1. Always follow your heart: go with what your heart says & always listen to yourself! Your life will achieve more!
  2. Set a reminder to always pray to God: setting a reminder to pray will help take stress & hardships out of your life.
  3. Take 10 minutes of every day for “me” time: take time to only focus on yourself in order to better your life, focus on things you can do to accomplish a better life!
  4. Never underestimate the power of you!: get to know yourself more because you don’t know what you’re capable of until it happens!
  5. Focus on what is happening right now: don’t focus on what you can’t change! Focus on what you can control which is the present!
  6. Never strive to be someone you’re not: God made you who you are for a reason! He loves you & you should too!
  7. Set goals for yourself: setting goals will be better for you because they let you know what to strive for to be a better person!
  8. Treat others as you want to be treated: this isn’t always easy to do but will always make your life better! Strive to be like Christ!
  9. Slow down!: we are so busy with school, work, and sports that we hardly ever get to see what is happening around us! Enjoy the now!
  10. Accept change and diversity: if you do this, the possibilities are endless on what you can do! Don’t keep doing the same thing the same way, but accept the fact that there are multiple ways to enjoy life and also to make it better!                 *Copyright 2015 Jenna Nopper
