My family in the Smokey Mountains

My family in the Smokey Mountains

Yesterday, I had to go into work for a mandatory tech morning. It was nice to see all of my coworkers again. We still have almost two weeks left before we start back to school full- time, starting with professional development days. I truly enjoy teaching! However, I enjoy my children more than anything else! Our summer has been wonderful. We had a great vacation together camping in the Smokey Mountains. We went to Kentucky Kingdom more than 15 times so far, and Lakeside at least a dozen or more. I have been running 6 days a week and walking our new puppy twice a day. We have relaxed and just had fun. I am not ready to give it up yet. But I know it’s coming. I think teaching might be the best profession ever. It allows each person to have a sabbatical, a time to rest and rejuvenate their spirit for the next school year. I think every profession should require at least 3 weeks vacation in a row at least twice a year. I think productivity would increase and so would attitudes towards work.

I still have some precious days left to enjoy this summer and believe me I will!
