1 Peter: 9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

We as followers of Jesus Christ are a chosen race. I believe that God did call us out of darkness. I believe that God is calling everyone of us away from the darkness, the lack of God, which is eternal love. Too many continue on that route of fruitless sin and blindness to love and goodness. Many circumstances land us in this place, our environment, people who have influenced us, where we live, and what we have been taught or not taught. It is sad to think about how many people are in darkness. However, God is constantly calling us to him. God’s voice is there but many do not hear it among the distractions that seem more important in this life. When one hears the voice, walks towards the voice, and forms a relationship with its source the light is so illuminating that it shines through ones entire existence and a wonderful life in Jesus Christ ensues.

Today, listen, stop being distracted by things of this world, by the negative self-talk, the addictions that you think “fill” you, and listen. Listen for the voice of God. Listen and allow that voice to lead you away from a pleasure driven life and into a kingdom driven life. Allow God to lead your life to willing the good of others.
