Yesterday I took our Sophomore students on a service awareness field trip. We visited six local non-profit agencies who help; the mentally disabled, abused and neglected children, women oppressed in the adult entertainment industry, senior citizens, those affected by cancer, and people in third world countries who have no access to clean drinking water. It was a great experience for the students to step foot in each of these agencies and learn all about the injustices of humanity as well as ways they can serve and help others in our own community. I spoke to many people who work at those agencies who talked about how wonderful Louisville, Kentucky is. We are a city of compassion who really takes the lead in helping others. It makes me proud to live here!
