God in creation
Prayer is more than creating and reciting a grocery list of wants and needs to God. Petitions are important and I feel certain God wants to hear our voices. As Bishop Barron says, “Prayer is to align our minds with the will of God.” The closer we can come to God the more mindful we become of God’s ways of goodness and grace and less of our selfish ideas and wants. Prayer is essential to our relationship with God. It is a time for us to connect with God through our humanity, to become vulnerable and open to God’s love. God’s love can transform our hearts and lives to love others selflessly and change our entire lives.
Today, pray, connect to God. You can use traditional prayers, creative prayers, centering prayers, meditation, heart prayers, read scripture, go to Mass, participate in a sacrament, acknowledge the presence of God in all of creation, give thanks, and praise to God. It is worth the time and effort it takes to be in a relationship with the creator and learn to love as God does.
