Our Bodies, August 3, 2012 Daily Reflection

Jake’s drawing of a person when he was 3 years old

We take it all for granted; walking, sitting, standing, talking, hearing, vision, living without pain, our heart beating and especially breathing. We don’t give it a second thought. We just move so quickly through our lives and our To Do list that we don’t have time to think about how our body is functioning until something goes wrong. When a part of our body fails and we can no longer fly through life it is then that we appreciate what we had. It is then that we realize how good we had it. Take for instance when you are down with the flu and you cannot work, eat right, sleep or think straight. You realize how bad it can be to not have your good health.

So today if you are healthy thank God for your health, appreciate this feeling and your body. If you are ill appreciate the parts of your body that are still working. If you really consider how your body works on the inside you will truly be amazed and in awe of its abilities. Truly the human body must be a creation of God. We should thank God daily for this unbelievable creation.
