Standing beneath this tree my egocentric ways tend to fade.

It’s years are great, able to withstand the storms of life, give shelter to others, and bring forth new life every spring.

Standing beneath the moon, my vanity fades.

I have been created by the same God who made the moon and the stars but what am I compared to this beautiful creation that illuminates the earth?

The moon and tree cause me to ponder my humanity. Life is not all about me and my problems. It is so much grander than one. Yet, each of us were made by the same creator with a plan and a purpose for our existence.

Standing beneath the moon and tree humbles my ego and lifts me to believe nature and humanity are all here to coexist, preserve, and respect one another. So, that we may each fulfill our purpose given to us by God.

May you too stand beneath the moon and the tree to feel your link to nature and humanity.
