In our prayers we should listen

“A wise old owl sat in an oak.
The more he saw the less he spoke,
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Now; why can’t we be like this bird?” – Author unknown

When I first became a mom my dad would drive my grandmother over to my house to visit her great grandchild, Ethan. She brought me a cook book. I asked her to write something in it. She wrote the poem above. She said it was one she memorized as a child and never forgot. The irony is that she talked so much she rarely listened to others. I loved my grandma! I believe this poem holds wisdom for all of us.
