Influence of others, December 7, 2017 Daily Reflection

My husband helping my boys with a project

Too often we get so wrapped up in our own thoughts, feelings, and ego that we forget that our actions have consequences to others. One of my son’s is in a really good school. He has a few best friends and they are good people, with values, and morals. They stand up for what is good and right. However, they are surrounded by many classmates who are immature, inconsiderate, and rude. These students do not consider how their actions will harm others. It doesn’t just happen in schools it also happens in the workplace. Over the years I have encountered and felt the effect of many others who are goal driven and have absolutely no consideration for others. They don’t think about how their actions could hurt others because they don’t think about others at all.

We all need to take a moment to stop and reflect on our every day actions. Be aware throughout the day and observe how you treat others. Reflect on your attitude and think about all those people who encounter you on a daily basis. Then think before you speak or don’t speak to them. We can influence others in a good way if we take the time to decide how to live this way.
