I guess I just don’t understand, September 18, 2013 Daily Reflection

God is always there

I guess I have been close to God since as early as I can remember (at least age 4 or 5). So, I have a difficult time understanding why people would not want to be close to God. After all, the entire Bible is a love story between God and humanity and it’s the best- selling book of all time. God created us in His image to have a relationship with Him. He gave us freewill to decide if we want to love him or not. It is our choice.

Throughout the history of the scriptures we witness where people ignored God, worshipped idols and just didn’t listen to Him. God sent prophets to tell humanity God loves us. God heard the cry of the poor and sent Moses to lead the Israelites out of slavery and then they complained again. God sent Jesus Christ to give us a human to relate to in our own way.  Jesus Christ was 100% human and 100% divine. Jesus Christ showed us how to love God. Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross so that we could have eternal salvation. Yet, there are so many people that want to deny God’s existence. There are people who not only deny it but live their lives trying to turn others against God. What is God’s response? God keeps on loving us and creating us and giving us freewill.

Why when God loves us as much as He does won’t so many people accept His love? It’s not like God is trying to make us be someone were not. God loved us into being and just wants to have a relationship with us. It is all really much simpler than people realize.

God is just there with His arms wide open waiting for us, no matter what we have done or what will choose to do, God is the only one who will love us all the way through it. Why would anyone want to deny that kind of love?

As for me and my family we will love God, talk to Him daily, praise Him, worship Him and take every opportunity to be as close as we can to Him because He is God and we love Him right back!
