Time changes when people get sick

Time changes when people get sick

There is nothing that makes you stop the fast pace of your day to day world like a sick child. I woke up yesterday to, “Mom, I am sick” at 5:00 in the morning. I was about to get up and work out anyway. As I was taking care of my littlest guy, my oldest guy said, “I don’t feel well, mom.” And then there were two…

I texted in to work, took 45 minutes to create sub plans for the classes I would miss, and took care of my children inbetween. Our day had been planned for awhile. A soccer game, my Master’s Class, my husband at a work meeting. It all fell apart when my daughter came home after school and said, “Mom, I have a headache, and chills, I don’t think I can play in the game tonight.” Then there were 3 sick. My class got cancelled because one of our classmates was sick. It all fell apart. But that’s ok I had hours while the children were napping to catch up on all of my grading! I needed that time to get caught up!!

Everything stops when our children get sick. We forget how precious everything in our normal lives is until something goes wrong. Today, thank God if you are healthy, and pray that you are always thankful for every precious moment spent with family.
