The Holy Family
On this day, the Feast of the Holy Family, we should be reminded that our family is also a holy family. Even if you are divorced, separated, or a single parent, foster parents or step parents, grandparents raising grandchildren and the list goes on and on. Where there is family and there is love there to shall be God.
“For where two or three are gathered
together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them.”
Matthew 18:20
Notice in the picture that Joseph, who was a foster father or step father, is missing his staff? It is still in the box I store the nativity set in, it is lost in the stuffing. There are things missing in all of our families, we do not have to be perfect to be a holy family. We just have to be associated with God. No matter the shape, size or titles within your family if there is love there is God and if you accept that love and call it God you have a holy family. Without knowing it YOU are part of God’s Holy Family. He chose to create you, love you and accept you into His holy family. So today take a look at the love within your family and say a little prayer of thanksgiving to God that you are a part of a family!
