We have been told that God loves us unconditionally. However, we seem to believe this with our intellect but not our heart and soul. A piece of God’s divinity lives within our souls. Yet, we do not love ourselves fully or unconditionally. If we are created partially divine and partially human then we must love our entire self. Some people think they love themselves but if you have a list like the following then your love for yourself is based on conditions:
I need to lose 10 lbs
If only I could look younger
If only I had more money
If only I had a better attitude…
the if only line is evidence of setting conditions on self for love.
God loves us unconditionally just as we are, we need to do the same.
