Go Forth, May 26, 2013 Sunday Tidbit

My Church

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

– Matthew 28:19-20

Go therefore and make disciples…when the Mass ends and we are dismissed it is not being released from church. It is a call to go out into the world and gather people to God. We get in our cars and yell at the slow people and complain about the slow service at our Sunday brunches; these are not ways to live the word of God after Church and in life. Getting to church is the easy part. Living the gospel is the challenge. That is not a good thought considering only 30% of us attempt to go to Mass weekly. If we can’t manage to get to the church how are we going to learn about the word of God? Who is going to support us on our journey towards God? Who will give of us a spiritual model and example to live our faith in our everyday life? Our church community wants to do all of that and more! We want to love, support and lean one another. Consider finding this type of Church community. It does exist. I feel it in my Church daily.
