After the race

It’s that time of year again…time to run the charity 5K races!!! This picture is from the Frog Town Hop 5K. The money raised for this event goes to the Crusade for Children. Each of us placed 1st or 2nd place in our age division. Last weekend we ran the Hunger Walk/Race 5K. The proceeds benefit Dare to Care and other local food banks.

As a family we enjoy running together in charity events. It is a great way to get exercise, help others and compete with each other. We have taught the children over the years that the faster you run the more goodies (food) are available after the race. We have a great time! Coming up soon on October 12th is the Angel Safari that runs through the zoo or the Home of the Innocence race at Bernheim Forest on October 26th. Each of these races also has walks.

Check out all of the 5K Charity races and consider doing one with your family, walking it with a friend or racing it with a running buddy. It’s a great way to wake up on a fall Saturday morning, get energized and help some people who need it.
