Epiphany

Epiphany

My family came to the hospital after I had every one of my babies to welcome the baby and bring me warm wishes. My parents and in laws took pictures and snuggled the newest addition to our family. My friends would visit and bring gifts of new baby clothes and diapers. The neighbors would wish us well! Everyone loves to see a new baby! But this baby was not just any baby but the Incarnation – God made flesh. His visitors were the lowest of the low the shepherd boys and the wisest of the wise the magi. His parents were not as ordinary as me and my husband for they were chosen by God to raise the son of God. They did not bring clothes and diapers but gold, myrrh and frankincense. They did not snuggle that baby but paid homage to the Savior of the World. Joy was brought into the world when the baby Jesus was born to all of mankind. When we search out the baby Jesus in our lives as the Magi did then we can rekindle that Joy and it can last a lifetime if we follow Jesus.
