Charity Walks/Races, October 23, 2012 Daily Reflection

My family after the Frog Town Hop Race/Walk we all won in our age divisions. Anna won 1st female overall.

Hues of amber, orange and yellow line the streets of my neighborhood trees. Fall is here and the foliage is breathtaking this year. My family and I are excitedly anticipating another great charity race. This one is for a local organization, Home of the Innocence, which aids children in crisis. They have organized a walk/run through the beautiful Bernheim Forest. We can’t wait to run through the forest and take in the beauty of the fall colors. If you are interested there is still time to register for this event.

As you probably know our family enjoys biking, hiking and running. We participate in charity runs for a few reasons. First of all we like to donate to a good cause and set the example of giving to charities to our children. Second we love to be active with our children. We are teaching them a healthy lifestyle through active living. Third we enjoy the mild competition, racing others but mainly racing our own times and having fun doing it. To be honest we enjoy winning small competitions it is great for our children’s confidence!

There are so many walks/races available to families in the Fall/Spring. Check out some of these events in your hometown. Get your family together and be active to support a great cause!
