Think about it, September 30 Daily Reflection

Our Camp Fire

Last year on our camping trip while staring into this fire my oldest son Ethan then age 10 turned to me and said “Mom I think I figured something out. All things of this world will fade away but the only thing that lasts forever is God.”  In awe I looked at him and said “You are so right!”

Truly think about this statement for a moment “All things of this world will fade away but the only thing that lasts forever is God.”

Not one thing will be here at the end of time. Not your house, your car, your money, your big screen TV, your high speed computer, your cool phone…nothing. But if you have known God in your life, really had a relationship with Him, loved Him and tried to live your life by His will then in the end you will find yourself in His warm embrace. If you believe that statement to be true then you must think about your motivations in this life. Are you living your life to make bigger purchases, to collect more things to climb the ladder? Are you living your life trying to know God better, in turn learning how to love your family and friends more fully?

Don’t waste the precious gift of life and the moments within it chasing things. Instead live your life in search of finding the ultimate gain; a close relationship with God. That relationship will teach you how to love unconditionally and live more fully than you ever thought possible.

“All things of this world will fade away but the only thing that last forever is God”.
