The Toy Aisle, April 16 Daily Reflection

The Toy Aisle

Standing in the toy aisle at Meijer’s, as my husband checks out new bikes with my oldest son, I am struck at the sight of all the toys. My children are so entertained by the toy aisle which is wonderful when they need a distraction.

It strikes me how many children ask for toys when what they want is not the toy but the time the parent will spend with them playing with the toy. My kids sometimes gravitate to the games because we will play them together.

Although our children don’t know how to ask, what they want most in this world is time spent with their parents.
