Can’t you just hear the water rushing through that creek splashing over the rocks and through the growing brush? It is unstoppable filled with a sense of urgency and impatience. It has behind it momentum driving it to its destination. Yet, all we are able to see is the flow. We cannot see the beginning or the end of the creek. Truly the end and the beginning don’t matter as much as the motion of the water.

In our lives we feel like we must know where we came from and we have to plan for exactly where we are going. In reality we can discover our past but really have no grasp of the future. God wants us to live in the present. God wants us to use our momentum and energy to transform us to His Will. The path is not as important as our energy. If our energy and priorities follow God’s will then the path we follow will be His. God asks this of us: Love one another as you love yourself. God asks for us to love others like He loves us. No matter what path you are on if you follow the will of God it is the right one.

The past is a blur, the future unknown, living the will of God is our salvation. Seek God, love others, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, care for the widows and the orphans, visit the imprisoned, be the person God calls you to be. If you live these actions the momentum of your life will be filled and overflow in goodness all your days until one day you rest in the loving presence of God for all eternity. It is this moment that we live to do His will.
