My youngest boy and his “girlfriend”

They are boyfriend and girlfriend. They have been for a few years now. They are precious and it is puppy love. It is innocent, sweet and honest. She goes to a different school now and they don’t get to sit together at lunch or play on the playground anymore. They rarely see each other. But today when we found out she was at the same cross country meet his eyes lit up and he immediately started to search for her. I spotted her first across the field and when she spotted him she started running for him. They ran to each other and hugged. I almost cried.

Their sweet love is so pure. They are friends that want to dig holes in the backyard and look for worms together. They want to hang out and play like little kids do. They talk about getting married and having children when they grow up. It is so innocent in a world that is so corrupt. They were both raised in stable, loving families that have faith at their center. They are well behaved, loving children. I look at them and smile and know there is hope for our world.
