“If you Can?” May 29, 2015 Daily Reflection

Bible ReadingHave you ever read The Healing of a Boy with a Demon? It is in the Bible Mark 9: 14-29. Someone from a crowd surrounding Jesus and his disciples brings his son to Jesus. He says he has been possessed since childhood. The man address Jesus and says, “But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” Jesus said to him “If you can! Everything is possible to one who has faith.” Later the disciples asked him in private, “why could we not drive it out?” He said to them, “This kind can only come out through prayer.”

How many demons do we possess? One of the accepted demons that drives our lives is avarice, an insatiable need for power, wealth, status and riches. There are also demons of addictions that take our lives completely. The demon of disbelief in God and His great power, love, compassion, and forgiveness.

When we have faith we have to believe that God can do anything. Jesus was ticked off that the father said, If you can. Anything is possible through the power of prayer, faith and undying belief. Demons will be gone when you hand it over to God and pray that Satan get behind you. In the 12 step process for recovering addicts one of the first steps is to acknowledge that there is a higher being and to hand it over to him, admitting that you are not in control. Demons are not easy to extinguish but they can be driven from our lives through prayer, faith, and the power of our all loving God.

What demons do you need to eliminate. Don’t wonder if God CAN do it, have faith that He Will!
