“My child, conduct your affairs with humility,
and you will be loved more than a giver of gifts.
Humble yourself the more, the greater you are,
and you will find favor with God.”

– Sir 3:17-19

Our culture rewards those with too much confidence and pride, it is seen as power. When those who know the truth realize the power only resides with God. A wise woman once told me whenever you are about to proclaim the Word of God, bow and say, “all for the glory and honor of God and none for myself.” People are amazed by all that I do in my life; being a mom of 3 teens, and one preteen, married for 19 years, teaching, writing a blog daily for 7 years, running 6 days a week, earning my Master’s Degree in Theology, taking my children to different sports and doing service. What I tell them is the truth I would have nothing if it were not for God. I do it all for the glory and honor of God. I have to remember that each time I feel it is me that is doing all this, I have to step back and realize it is God who gives me the energy, intellect, and ability to do any of it. It is not me! It is God!!! I am trying daily to understand humility and to be a humble servant of God’s grace.
