Helping others

Are you a helpful person? Do you wait and hold doors open for people? Do you offer to carry something for others? Are you a kind person? Do you make eye contact with others and smile often? Do you say hey, when you pass people? Do you say excuse me when you walk in front of others at the grocery store? Or are you that person that is so focused on time and your own agenda that you never look up because you are speeding passed people constantly? Are you the person who would like to be kind and hold doors but you just don’t have the time to make such considerate gestures for others?

I totally get it! I live my life in fast forward speed. So, many times I think if only I had the time I would hold that door, smile and help someone to their car with their groceries. How can we change this? I often stop myself and think what is more important being 10 seconds late or helping a person? It’s difficult to do it every time and I don’t but I am trying to slow down and look around.

Today, look around, slow down and try to be a kind and helpful person. It will make someone else feel better and make the rest of your day so much better.
