Jesus giving comfort
What do you think would complete you right now, as a teenager? Please don’t tell me what you think I want to hear. Tell me what you really think would make you happy and complete you. I posed this question to my students. The number one answer was money. But only 2 of the students said it in a greedy way. The rest of the students said “I need it to go to college or I would like more to help my family out.”
“My soul will not rest until it rests in you.” – St. Augustine
I told my students this quote and explained that no matter what you want in this life nothing but God will complete you. But at different times in your life you cannot see that because you have other needs that appear to be more pressing. With time, experience and wisdom they will realize that money will never complete a soul.
Without a doubt I completely believe that my soul will not rest until it rests in the loving embrace of God. God in heaven will complete my soul. But God in my life while I am living completes me here. Without my faith I would be incomplete and lost.
